I can have FP 9 on my "Netscape" type browsers and FP 8 on IE 6 since these FP versions are installed in two separate installations (as I'm sure you know) - and one installation does not influence the other. However, FP 8.0.42.0 - the latest archived version of FP 8 - works fine. However, the latest FP version for my OS (Windows 98) is 9.0.277.0, but this ALWAYS crashes on YouTube.

You say, "As long as you have the latest version of Flash Player that your OS supports and browsers, then you comply with the youtube requirements." I was pretty sure that this would be the case.

Thanks, for the clarification about the edition of the OS not being too important for YouTube, just the Flash and the browser. If (when) FF 2 and IE 6 get terminated, I can watch YouTube videos with FP 8 - and, hopefully with FP 9, if we can solve the crash problem - on Netscape and Opera. I don't get the warning with Netscape 7.0 and Opera 10.10, so I guess these browsers are "modern" enough for YouTube. Probably, at some point in the future, YouTube will not allow me to play videos at all with these browsers.

Please upgrade to a modern browser." But, I can still play the videos with these FF 2 and IE 6 non-supported browsers. (I've never had FP 9 on IE 6, only FP 8, which works great on YouTube.) As far as YouTube support for the browsers, every time I go on the site with FP 8 on FF 2 and IE 6, I get a warning in a big banner at the top of the page, "Your browser is no longer supported. But, FP 8 works with these browsers on YouTube. Yes, I tried FP 9.0.277.0 with FF 2, Netscape 7.0, and Opera 10.10 on YouTube and ALWAYS got crashes when I tried to play a video.
